Homage to Heinz Teufel

Homage to Heinz Teufel

The exhibition entitled "Homage to Heinz Teufel" includes the results of the work of a renowned gallerist, a great promoter of geometric abstraction, it and presents the works of authors with whom he was linked in his life by a professional relationship and personal friendship. "Without Heinz Teufel and his work, Czech artists such as Zdeněk Sýkora, Karel Malich, Jan Kubíček or Milan Dobeš would never have came through Germany, Switzerland, they would not become internationally recognized personalities of specific art and op art," said curator Jan Světlík. The main works that can be seen in the Milan Dobeš Museum exposition in honor of Teufel are the works of the Czech artists and Andrzej Nowacky. For a Pole artist living in Germany, the connection with Teufel had a special meaning. Visitors to the new exhibition at the Milan Dobeš Museum will also be attracted by the Icon - almost two meters high acrylic on the canvas by the German representative of geometric abstraction and op-art Günter Fruhtrunk. In addition to this personality, visitors will also meet Bridget Riely, Andreas Brandt, Manfred Mohr and other artists. A part of the exhibition is also a documentary about the personal interviews of the galerist Heinz Teufel about life and work with four particular artists with whom he worked closely.
